Bandit’s Buddies is a fun and empowering riding program designed for able-bodied children ages 5 to 12. This program uses both horses and miniature horses to support children's mental and physical well-being through engaging mounted and unmounted activities. Unlike traditional riding schools geared toward competition, Bandit’s Buddies is not a stepping stone to the show ring. Instead, each session is crafted to meet children where they are—helping them build self-confidence, trust, independence, and physical coordination. Each child receives 1:1 attention during their sessions. Mounted lessons focus on helping riders become confident and independent at the walk, guiding them through obstacle courses and scenic trail rides. Children will learn how to steer, stop, and play games while riding—turning learning into adventure. Unmounted lessons include important hands-on skills like grooming, saddling, and round penning, giving children a sense of responsibility and connection with their horse. On rainy days, interactive classroom lessons will be provided, which parents or caregivers are welcome to join.

Participation requires consistency—more than one no call/no show will result in removal from the program. If your child’s main goal is to “go fast” or “run” while riding, this may not be the right fit. Bandit’s Buddies is about the quiet victories—like brushing a horse without help, taking the lead on the trail, or confidently saying, “I did this all by myself.” It’s more than a lesson—it’s a journey of growing courage, self-worth, and capability in every child who joins.
